Emanem Records is an independent record label based in London specialising in free improvised music. The label was founded in 1974 by Martin Davidson assisted by Madelaine Davidson. The main purpose of the label was to document the London free improvisation scene. It has become a prolific source of both archival recordings (notably its extensive documentation of the work of John Stevens and the Spontaneous Music Ensemble) and new recordings of improvised music.
Evan Parker's Psi label is now hosted by Emanem.
The slogan of the label is Unadulterated New Music For People Who Like New Music Unadulterated.
In the 2000s, Emanem joined forces with Eddie Prévost's Matchless label to present Freedom of the City, an annual improvised-music festival in London. Though its size and scope vary from year to year depending on funding, it has continued as an annual event, with many of the recorded performances issued on either Emanem or Matchless.
